SOCKS N SLIDES - THIS SUMMERS MUST HAVES

We might all love our sneakers but the footwear of this summer is definitely a pair of slides accompanied by the complimentary white sock! 

Normally this would be a big fashion faux pas anywhere but poolside, however this has now made the progression into the mainstream with everyone getting into the action.  Having made an appearance late last summer on the catwalk with Marc Jacobs & Givency, the socks’n’slides look has made it to the masses this year and a place in most high-street retailers.

With so many now to pick from, I wanted to highlight my Top 3 picks.

#1 Adidas Adilette

The original and best in my opinion, having been introduced back in 1972 this was the first Adidas sandal and to this day, still a best-seller

Providing a contoured orthopedic rubber sole with synthetic upper, what was designed as post-workout footwear, has now become the go to sandal on the beach or at a summer festival to finish off your outfit.

#2 Nike Benassi Swoosh

Nike’s answer to the Adilette, these super lightweight sliders provide a textured footbed for a massaging feel and the iconic swoosh so no mistaking the brand.

Teamed with a bright white sports socks, this is a strong look for a night out and has been picked up by a lot of woman as the alternative to a night in heels, perfection!

#3 Nike Benassi x Fragment Design

Nike have launched a couple of slide collabs this summer including the F.C.R.B Benassi Solarsoft range but for me, last weeks release as part of ongoing collaboration with designer Hiroshi Fujiwara was my favourite.

This special edition slider, utilised that super comfortable base sole from the Benassi Swoosh but incorporated a black suede padded strap finished off with typographic print detail on the moulded rubber sole.
