This month ASICS Tiger have unveiled their latest drop, the GEL-RESPECTOR back in its original glory.

Originally released in 1991, the Gel-Respector made its debut following the success of the GEL-LYTE III. This running shoe featured a moulded E.V.A. midsole consisting of two components for extra mid foot support, a modern GEL silhouette and a commercial tongue – to avoid any comparisons with its predecessor.

The OG details remain in tact on this re-release including the iconic ASICS waves – two different rubber densities inspired by sea: a subtle nod to the city of Kobe in Japan, the brand’s home. It also features a TPU heel stabilizer that gives runners extra stability.

As well as the comfort and support technology behind the shoe, there is no doubt the first thing you really consider is the colourway. Well, the Gel-Respector will be released in its original colourway of Aster Purple and Black. I really do love this subtle combination and I think it allows the quality of the trainer to really speak for itself.

The Gel-Respector will be available from 19th June at selected Family and Friends retailers in Europe. Family and Friends retailers offer a top-tier ASICS Tiger collection that celebrates innovation, technology and collaboration at the highest level. The shoes will retail at £120 and running in sizes UK6-UK12.
